Born in Nottingham, England before migrating to Australia as a child, Paul has been involved in performance singing for most of his life; from early days throughout school in choirs and musicals, to church choirs and then as part of a classical a Capella quartet.
It was jazz, however, that held a special allure for Paul. Having long been inspired by greats such as Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Ella Fitzgerald and Australia’s own Vince Jones, this led him to make the transition to jazz vocalist. Subsequently also taking up double bass, he has since performed the majority of his performances as a singing bass player with over a thousand performances to his credit over the last 12 years.
Performing from an extensive repertoire of Swing, Blues and Latin jazz standards ranging from the early 20’s to the swinging 50’s, Paul has been described as: “Great to listen to and seriously entertaining” and currently holds a number of residencies at venues around town, a testament to the popularity and appeal of his performance style and music.
